Cars on the road kill thousands of native animals, as they do not know the danger of an oncoming vehicle. It is important to drive slowly so if an animal such as a kangaroo hops out in front of you, you will be able to stop in time. If you see an animal such as a wombat, kangaroo, possum, wallaby, turtle, koala or an echidna on the side of the road and it is in danger of being run over, please stop and try and coax them away from the road to safety.
