When you buy these goods, you are supporting companies that do not kill dolphins and whales in the process of catching their product. Some companies use what is called the 'wall of death' to catch their fish. This 'wall' is a large net that is placed across areas in the ocean that are known to be abundant with fish and other seafoods. Unfortunately, not only are the target fish captured, but every other species that swims by is caught also. These innocent animals that are tangled in the nets and die are called 'by-catch'. By-catch mainly includes dolphins, whales, turtles, dugongs and seals. As many of these species are mammals, they need to come up to breathe for air and being trapped in a huge net prevents this, resulting in the needless drowning of these magnificent creatures. If companies like this sell their products, then they will continue to operate like this while they are making a profit. So, deny these companies a profit and do not buy their products!
