You should always pull over after accident and check to see whether the animal is dead or alive. If it is still alive, carefully wrap it in a blanket and take it to the nearest vet, ranger or wildlife rescue organisation. If the animal is dead, remove it from the road. This prevents any further damage being done to the animal or accidents that may occur with other motorists. You should also check to see if there are any young in the pouch of the animal as many young survive accidents. If so, carefully remove the young from the pouch, keep it warm by wrapping it in a rag or blanket and take it to the nearest vet, ranger or wildlife rescue organisation.
