WHAT IS WTA?

 

Wildlife Tourism Australia Inc. (WTA) is a non-profit organisation established to promote the sustainable development of a diverse Australian wildlife tourism industry that supports conservation. It focuses principally on the viewing and interpretation of native animals in the wild and in captivity, and is the peak body in Australia focusing specifically on wildlife tourism. WTA is an Incorporated Association that was established in 2003. It has an elected committee consisting of a chair, two vice-chairs, treasurer and secretary. 

 

 

WHY JOIN YET ANOTHER ORGANISATION?

 

  • WTA is the major national body focusing on wildlife tourism, and was formed as a ‘bottom up’ initiative from motivated operators and other key industry stakeholders
  • By joining WTA you indicate to others your agreement with WTA's ideals of supporting consevation, animal welfare and quality inetrpretation
  • As a member you will receive a free website advertisement and opportunities for low-cost cooperative advertuising
  • WTA strives to keep costs - membership, wotkshops, etc. - low for its members, understanding that many members run small businesses or work in low-salary conditions
  • As a WTA member, you can be actively involved in decision making processes within the organisation and the wider tourism industry
