2003 Wildlife Tourism Australia Inaugural Workshop
Inaugural Workshop hosted by Wildlife Tourism Australia
NOVEMBER 8-9, 2003
Warrawong Earth Sanctuary and Cleland Wildlife Park
Adelaide Hills, South Australia
This event was a great success, with more than 50 people attendeding, including wildlife tourism operators of various types (e.g. tour operators, wildlife parks/zoos, sanctuaries, botanic gardens, national parks agencies), government tourism and conservation reps, academics, students and consultants. About half of the event consisted of small groups working on particular topics, and these generated lots of ideas and plans for WTA to continue working on. There were also a variety of high quality presentations on aspects ranging from marketing to conservation. The group participated in an inspiring session on interpretation by internationally renowned Sam Ham and Betty Weiler.
