Gippsland High Country Tours. Bruthen, VicGIPPSLAND HIGH COUNTRY TOURS

These small group nature tours and walks are learning experiences as well as holidays, so if you are curious about the natural world, this is for you. Wildlife encounters are always part of the experience, as are wildflowers in season. Birdwatchers can select dedicated birdwatching tours from the program.

Explore the Snowy River, Alpine, Errinundra and Croajingolong National Parks plus more on a varied program of 3-7 days fully packaged ecotours and walks. Come and learn what makes these stunningly beautiful places so special and hear their rich history. Relax and immerse yourself in nature while Jenny and other local guides are waiting to share their love and knowledge of each environment and help open your eyes to the natural world.

With a relaxed pace and a small group you have the best opportunity to gain an understanding of the wonderful places you visit. Take time to breathe in the clear mountain air and touch the smooth trunks of snowgums. You will come away not only feeling very refreshed, but also invigorated and better informed.

The little things matter too – home style meals, a friendly caring atmosphere and of course your fellow travellers, who like you, have an interest in the environment and a love of the outdoors. On any tour, around half the participants are likely to be return clients, which says something in itself!

Wildlife observations are recorded on the Victoria Biodiversity Atlas and bird lists submitted to Birdlife Australia’s bird Atlas. Select departures incorporate wildlife research and monitoring with naturalist guides.

Wildlife commonly seen – Varies depending on destination: Swamp Wallabies, Whales, Seals Goannas (lace monitors) and other lizards, Echidnas, interesting invertebrates plus a long list of birds.

Most exciting – Is often a common species, but observed doing something interesting. Of course a creature that someone has never seen in the wild before creates plenty of excitement too. When it comes to mammals – Wombats, Platypus, Whales and Seals are hard to beat.

Outstanding feature – Small groups, knowledgeable and caring guides, flexible itineraries to help everyone to get the most out of their experience.

Habitats – Alpine, coastal, cool temperate rainforest, mallee, foothills and montane forests and woodlands.
