This conference will explore the interphase of conservation and finance in the context of wildlife tourism
There are three major aspects:
- Human-wildlife conflicts, especially in agriculture areas where the animals that tourists want to seemly be ones the farmers or pastoralists do’t was to be increasing in the area. How can we best resolve these conflicts?
- It can cost money and effort to make tourism truly nature-positive rather than just green-washing. How can companies both large and small ensure they are truly ecologically-sustainable (including the ability to employ or train guides with the right “people skills”as well as wildlife skills) and also remain economically sustainable?
- what are some of the ways the tourism dollar can assist biodiversity conservation?
The conference will be held in Perth, Western Australia, with a pre-conference and mid-conference excursion, and other optional pre-an post-conference excursions to places we can experience some fascinating fauna and flora, as well as offering great scenery and geological interest
