Founded by Steve Noakes, Pacific Asia Tourism primarily works across the Pacific and Asia regions in three areas: commercial, not-for-profit and academia/research.
The commercial operations involve:
- projects funded by international development agencies, government and industry groups where tourism is utilized to achieve sustainable development goals
- investment in wildlife ecotourism activities
- tour operations in Melanesia and Indonesia
Support for not-for-profit organisations includes the Global Sustainable Tourism Council and Sustainable Travel International. Academic/research activity has been centred with Griffith University, Bond University and University of Queensland in Australia; Udayana University in Bali and Lapland University in Finland and UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
All activities adhere to the ‘Do No Harm’ approach which is a key principle in international humanitarian and development engagements and responsible business practices.
