Echidna Walkabout Nature Tours

Echidna Walkabout is a world-recognised nature and wildlife specialist tour operator, specialising in Australia’s south-east.  On ALL our tours guests will be helping to conserve wildlife and improve wildlife habitat. We focus on the iconic mammals, reptiles and striking, special birds of Australia.

We will happily spend time gazing at a Koala, while Black-chinned Honeyeaters pluck her fur for their nests; or listening to the composition of a Superb Lyrebird and trying to pick out all the mimicked calls of other birds.

We love to show guests the antics of curious teenage Emus, or to watch quietly as a 2 metre Goanna swallows a fish as large as his own head.

Wildlife commonly seen:

Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Koalas, Emus, Swamp Wallabies, Sulphur-crested Cockatoos, Galahs, Eastern Rosellas & Red–rumped Parrots, Superb Fairy-wrens, Cape Barren & Magpie Geese, White-winged Choughs and many others, depending on tour chosen.

Rare spottings:

Long-nosed Potoroo, Platypus, Spotted Quail-thrush, Hooded Plover, Sooty Oystercatcher, Scarlet Honeyeater, Southern Emu-wren, Red-browed Treecreeper, Beautiful Firetail, Little Tern, Turquoise Parrot, depending on tour chosen.
